Get In Touch With Cliterati!

I’m pretty new to Cliterati, and if like me you’ve been living under a rock for the past 14 years here’s what it’s all about…

Cliterati is the site founded by women and created for women, which dares to admit that women like sex too. However, you don’t have to be a woman to enjoy – or contribute to – the site. You can be of any gender, sexuality, relationship type, ability – the only limit is that you must be over 18 (or the age of consent in your country of origin). The site is designed for adults, so if you’re under-age visit Scarleteen instead.

Here’s what the majorly talented Emily Dubberley (CEO of Cliterati, multi-published author and sexpert) had to say about how the site has evolved over the last 14 years:

arty pic of Emily

“When we first created in 2001, it was before Sex and the City and long before 50 Shades, or the amazing variety of sex blogs that are now around: the idea of an erotic site for women was much more controversial than it is now – but when we attracted 120,000 page views in a day, we realised that it was very much needed. Over the last 14 years, Cliterati has evolved, though erotica is very much at its core: while Cliterati was originally created for women, realising gender is a spectrum not a binary meant that the site has now evolved to be for everyone, regardless of gender (though we do have a preference for covering under-represented groups and reflecting sex-related issues that may be ignored by mainstream media). Evidence-based research has become increasingly important too – there’s so much dubious sex science in the media (see that we try to run the latest *real* sex news as counter to the glut of PR-led nonsense surveys, that give a biased – and incorrect – view of sex.”

So, in what appears to me to be an increasingly conservative world and media, I think it is incredibly important for us to have access to such a liberated site. There is a mind boggling amount of information on there; from sex advice to sex toy reviews, books to events. It’s easy to navigate and very accessible. There’s also a ton of erotica to read, straight, group, kinky, queer, D/s – something for everyone and I’m proud to say I’m now a regular contributor to the erotic fiction on the site. Find my stuff here.

Emily Dubberley is also on Facebook and is hosting the Erotic World Book Day #EWBD event on March 5th 2015. Follow the hashtag on twitter and like the Facebook page to keep up with what’s going on leading up to March 5th.

As ever, thanks for reading.

  2. Congratulations Rebecca!
I have recently discovered Cliterati also and have just submitted my first story to them, so my fingers are crossed that I shall be fortunate enough to follow in your footsteps.
I loved the pieces that you have on Cliterati… brilliantly written and so hot! Keep it coming… or should I say cumming!?
