Review and New Release Info: Bases Loaded edited by F Leonora Solomon @fdotleonora

Today it is my very great pleasure to host the lovely F Leonora Solomon and her brand new, hot anthology – Bases Loaded.

I had high hopes for this anthology because Leonora’s last anthology Tie Me Up (see my review here) is one of my favourites. I’m very happy to say I wasn’t disappointed.

I’m not a baseball fan, I’m English, over here we call it rounders! Now, in school I played rounders for years, *cough* I was captain, pitcher (faster than the wind) I might have even played for my county. So I know what it feels like to hit a ball long, high and deep on a rough school field, and how it feels to run round those bases knowing the fielders didn’t stand a chance. So, I may not be a baseball fan but I got the passion behind these stories.

Bases Loaded is chock full of wonderful stories in a variety of writing styles and a variety of sexual combinations! They are sexy and hot and all of them made me wish I could go to a baseball game, some of them made me wish I could watch a game while I had someone doing naughty things to me while I watched. Others made me want to perv for hours over baseball players physiques (I’m totally not above doing that – their bums are fascinating!)

Oleander Plume made me laugh (as always). One story made me cry, Tomio Hall-Black, wow – that’s all I can say. I loved this story SO much – incredibly sexy and tender, wonderful writing and so much feeling packed into a short story. Malin James brings the heat with some f/f action and so much more from a group of great writers. F Leonora Solomon finds the talent so we can read it. I highly recommend this anthology, I think you will find a lot to enjoy in it. So go buy it!!

Take it away Leonora…

bases loaded cover

The bases are loaded and I am not talking about the World Series! I am talking about my sexy new anthology Bases Loaded, which the lovely Rebecca has invited me to talk about…or maybe she wants me to talk about what a hardcore sports fan I am! Sometimes I lose people when I begin to talk about sports, or get into almost fights because the teams I love oppose someone else’s. Suffice to say, I am passionate about sports…and to me all passion can only lead to one thing!

The stories in Bases Loaded are hot! No you do not need to be an expert about the sport to enjoy the book at all. All you need is a passion for hot erotica to enjoy Bases Loaded. Sports fans, haters and in betweens can curl up with this book and um, well enjoy it thoroughly!

Blurb:

Bases are loaded and there’s potential for multiple homeruns in this sexy collection of Baseball erotica!

Bases Loaded compiles twelve seriously sexy short stories that will have you rooting for the happy ending, even if you are not a baseball fan like the editor.

All of the authors in this anthology have a unique take on the game and the hit players, which is guaranteed to make you want to go up to bat!

So go ahead, you’re up and the bases are loaded!

Review: Chemical Sex edited by Oleander Plume

If you’re familiar with this blog you’ll know I love a good erotic anthology because I’ve edited one, got a story in one and reviewed a few now. If you’re not then check out my other reviews when you’ve read this one if you like. Today it’s all about chocolate – yummy! Not only is this a great anthology but all the proceeds go to two brilliant charities – Brook the UK’s leading sexual health charity for young people under 25 (you might have read about them here already as we donate to them from the Erotic World Book Day anthology) and Chemical Sex is also donating to A is For which is a non profit organization dedicated to advancing women’s reproductive rights and ending the stigma against abortion care. Two very worthy causes indeed. So let’s get raising some money for them!

chemical sex cover

Unusually, I’m going to start by mentioning the cover for this book. I think it’s awesome, one of the best I’ve seen. So many erotic books have naff generic covers that don’t have anything really to do with what’s inside the book. (Is it just me who gets annoyed when the bloke on the front doesn’t even look like the character in the book? Anyway, I digress…) This cover is sharp and sexy and like Oleander says, “I could lick that cover, it’s delicious!” I could lick it too but actually I want to dip my finger in that chocolate and dribble it on interesting parts of my body. That is a really good way to start a book. So congratulations to Jacob Louder for producing it.

So as you can tell from the cover there is a theme to these stories, and that theme is chocolate. I know my man likes chocolate so obviously it’s not just a woman’s thing, but I think it’s fair to say that women have a more intimate relationship with chocolate than men do. (If that’s controversial please feel free to lambaste me in the comments). Because of that these stories resonated with me in very pleasurable ways. All I know is that I always love it, sometimes I crave it, when I resist it it’s painful and I only make myself miserable. Chocolate can be a comfort, exciting, loving and sexy. These stories are all that and much more. Every story contains chocolates that are aphrodisiacs – when I say I want some, I mean I want a truck load because I could taste every bite of those delicious chocolates as I read these stories.

So to the book… well it’s got some of my favourite writers in. That’s not to say it gets an automatic great review, it doesn’t. It’s getting a great review because it is HOT! It’s got a really nice mix of humour and intensity, which I would expect from Oleander seen as her stories and social media comments quite often make me laugh out loud. It also has stories about new and old relationships, as well as multiple partners which I love. Jacob Louder’s Thursday Threesome / Birthday Foursome really stood out for me as well as Tabitha Rayne’s The Dinner Guest and boy did I feel the heat in Tamsin Flowers’ The Stranger.

Each story uses the chocolate to explore different aspects of sexuality, relationships or creative ways to have sex. It’s a perfect mix of styles and ideal for picking up when you feel the need for some sexual chocolate a.k.a some alone time… OK well there you are, I’ve recommended it now go, read it, make yourself feel good and raise some money for charity while you’re at it!

It’s available in paperback as well as e-book format.

Thanks for reading,

An Intimate Education #EWBD Charity Anthology

An Intimate Education cover

It’s been a while since I mentioned this anthology that I edited with Emily Dubberley for Erotic World Book Day.

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO BROOK – THE SEXUAL HEALTH CHARITY.

It’s packed full of 22 amazing pieces of diverse erotica – I reckon there’s something in there for everyone. All the stories were kindly donated by incredibly talented authors and I’ve got to say that editing it was a real *cough* pleasure. Honestly, I was a tingly mess most nights while I worked on it.

Here’s a little excerpt from my femdom story – A Lesson In Surrender

“Take off your coat and your t-shirt. I want to see you.”

He placed his clothes over the back of a chair by the door. The house was warm, but goose bumps still scattered on his skin. He stood before her, shoulders back, arms by his side. Her eyes showed her approval as they roamed over his lightly muscled chest and tight stomach.

“Turn around and put your hands on the wall.”

He turned, closing his eyes as he placed his hot hands on the cold surface. The tension across his back was almost unbearable; he needed her touch, but he knew he would have to wait.

He heard her heels click on the solid wood floor as she walked towards him.

“I’m going to teach you how to give in.” She whispered in his ear. Her warm breath caressing his neck.

Here’s a list of the authors in the anthology:

Anna Sansom

Lucy Felthouse

Charlotte Howard

Rebecca Black

Kay Jaybee

Madeline Moore

Cara Sutra

Helen J Perry & Adria Kane

Tabitha Rayne

A.M. Hartnett

Oleander Plume

Kayla Lords

Vanessa de Sade

James Gent

Anna Sky

Lily Harlem

Victoria Blisse

Rhyll Biest

Neil Davis

Lexie Bay

Paris Orsini

Emily Dubberley

That’s an amazing list, right? So many successful authors who all made time to write a piece for this anthology. All that talent makes the pages sizzle!

Please support a great charity by buying a copy. Enjoy! Rx

Tabitha Rayne: Erotic Author and Artist

Tabitha Rayne is an incredibly talented lady. Not only does she write steamy hot erotica, but she is also an erotic artist, entertaining blogger and a genuinely lovely person. She makes me laugh and her lovely, supportive words have made me cry (I was tired and emotional – she didn’t mean to!)

That moment… by Tabitha Rayne

Tabitha is a member of the Brit Babes, a group of British erotica authors who have released several anthologies together. Their free book, ‘Sexy Just Walked Into Town‘, was my introduction to Tabitha and her short story ‘The Scribe’ is actually one of my all-time favourites. It is a sensual, erotic tale of a woman’s need to paint her arousal on her body until the ink drying on her skin feels like “…being licked by a tiny angel.” She has a wonderful way with words, imaginative, sometimes amusing, sometimes dark and edgy; but always hot and oh lordy does she know how to write good sex!

Her work ranges from dystopian erotic fantasy, in ‘The Meeting Place’ trilogy, to her take on billionaires, in ‘Sexy Just Got Rich‘, and naughty ghosts in ‘Mia’s Books‘. Check out her book list here. Tabitha also contributed a fantastic story to the Erotic World Book Day anthology, ‘An Intimate Education‘ (all proceeds go to the sexual health charity Brook).

Clockwork Butterfly cover

She is one of the few authors where I enjoy her blog almost as much as her stories. There was was one post that resonated with me early on and has stuck with me ever since. She wrote it around the time of the Blogger censorship debacle. The Spectre is an eloquent piece about the constrictions of censorship and the effect it has on the people who are censored. After I read that piece, my curiosity piqued, I had a look around her blog only to discover her erotic drawings. Go take a look – they’re beautiful. Long may she continue to write, draw and create because the world would be a very dull place without her work.

Reviews: ‘Not Her Type’ and ‘Take Control’ by Kay Jaybee

Kay Jaybee has written over 70 short stories and 14 solo publications, so if you’re new to Kay and you like these books, you’ve got a huge back catalogue to read. She’s well known for ‘The Perfect Submissive’ trilogy (Xcite) and is one eighth of the brilliant Brit Babes. Her writing has a distinctly British feel to it, so expect a bunch of sexy ‘arses’ and ‘bottoms’ rather than ‘asses’ and ‘butts’!

Not Her Type is a classic tale of opposites who attract. Jenny is a well educated woman who has secluded herself from the world after a series of difficult relationships; John is a rough around the edges courier who delivers her DVDs every week (I want that service *cough*). They begin the story as friends, but the story rapidly becomes about their sexual explorations.

Kay Jaybee isn’t shy about exploring a wide variety of kinks and pushing some boundaries. Not Her Type has M/F, M/F/F and F/F scenes; there’s some light bondage and spanking; masturbating in public; and one particular kink that will probably not be everyone’s cup of tea. I had a moment where I thought, “did he really just say he was going to do that?!” But Jaybee doesn’t draw the scene out, so even though it’s not my thing, it didn’t really bother me.

The sex is pretty raw and basically a series of short, hard fucks. I never felt like I connected emotionally with the characters. I want that most of the time when I read erotica, but sometimes I’m happy to just go with the physical – this was one of those times. The sex was definitely hot and there was more than one scene that got me all tingly. The sheer desperation and urgency they feel for each other is a turn on in itself.

Jenny and John’s relationship raises the question: is sex alone ever enough? The sex she’s having with John rapidly takes over Jenny’s life to the point where she can think of little else.

She’s confused about her sexuality, she’s confused about John. The sex is the only thing that makes sense. This book is heavy on the sex and light on story, but to be honest I got all that I needed from the plot and it drives the book forward to a more than satisfactory ending. I liked the ending and thought it was pretty realistic considering the characters thoughts and actions throughout.

Overall, I enjoyed Not Her Type it’s a hot piece of erotica that does what it intends to. I am very glad that Kay Jaybee has such a fertile imagination.

Personally, Christmas wrapping paper will never seem quite so innocent again.

Take Control has five short imaginative stories catering to all sorts of kinks. They are primarily about dominance and submission, but they also explore other elements of erotic play.

Much to my delight, Kay Jaybee seems to be a big fan of multiple partner scenes: making ‘Dinner With Tess’ and ‘Staged’ my favourite stories in this collection.

Dinner With Tess’ is a bisexual menage (my favourite kind) and it is definitely hot. I wanted more M / M action which was a bit of an unfulfilled tease, but I guess it’s the wrong collection of stories for that particular kink. It was very enjoyable none the less.

There are a couple of stories that are more sensual, ‘Deluged’ and ‘The Necklace’ (which is also a menage). These were well written with evocative language. I felt every drop of water and sting of hail on Beth’s skin and it made me long for a summer thunderstorm.

The Experiment’ is a voyeur’s delight which ends with a nice surprise.

A quick enjoyable read; easy to pick up and put down whenever the urge may take you.

4 stars – recommended read

I received these books from the publisher in exchange for an honest and fair review.
