Review and New Release Info: Bases Loaded edited by F Leonora Solomon @fdotleonora

Today it is my very great pleasure to host the lovely F Leonora Solomon and her brand new, hot anthology – Bases Loaded.

I had high hopes for this anthology because Leonora’s last anthology Tie Me Up (see my review here) is one of my favourites. I’m very happy to say I wasn’t disappointed.

I’m not a baseball fan, I’m English, over here we call it rounders! Now, in school I played rounders for years, *cough* I was captain, pitcher (faster than the wind) I might have even played for my county. So I know what it feels like to hit a ball long, high and deep on a rough school field, and how it feels to run round those bases knowing the fielders didn’t stand a chance. So, I may not be a baseball fan but I got the passion behind these stories.

Bases Loaded is chock full of wonderful stories in a variety of writing styles and a variety of sexual combinations! They are sexy and hot and all of them made me wish I could go to a baseball game, some of them made me wish I could watch a game while I had someone doing naughty things to me while I watched. Others made me want to perv for hours over baseball players physiques (I’m totally not above doing that – their bums are fascinating!)

Oleander Plume made me laugh (as always). One story made me cry, Tomio Hall-Black, wow – that’s all I can say. I loved this story SO much – incredibly sexy and tender, wonderful writing and so much feeling packed into a short story. Malin James brings the heat with some f/f action and so much more from a group of great writers. F Leonora Solomon finds the talent so we can read it. I highly recommend this anthology, I think you will find a lot to enjoy in it. So go buy it!!

Take it away Leonora…

bases loaded cover

The bases are loaded and I am not talking about the World Series! I am talking about my sexy new anthology Bases Loaded, which the lovely Rebecca has invited me to talk about…or maybe she wants me to talk about what a hardcore sports fan I am! Sometimes I lose people when I begin to talk about sports, or get into almost fights because the teams I love oppose someone else’s. Suffice to say, I am passionate about sports…and to me all passion can only lead to one thing!

The stories in Bases Loaded are hot! No you do not need to be an expert about the sport to enjoy the book at all. All you need is a passion for hot erotica to enjoy Bases Loaded. Sports fans, haters and in betweens can curl up with this book and um, well enjoy it thoroughly!

Blurb:

Bases are loaded and there’s potential for multiple homeruns in this sexy collection of Baseball erotica!

Bases Loaded compiles twelve seriously sexy short stories that will have you rooting for the happy ending, even if you are not a baseball fan like the editor.

All of the authors in this anthology have a unique take on the game and the hit players, which is guaranteed to make you want to go up to bat!

So go ahead, you’re up and the bases are loaded!

Guest Post: The Beautiful F. Leonora Solomon On Food and Attraction

“She cradled it with her lips to slowly suck the thick, dark chocolate covering, before letting it enter her mouth completely.” F. Leonora Solomon, ‘Chocolate Covered’ from Chemical Sex Anthology

Chef, Ellie Masters, in my novella A Taste For Three, has a complex relationship with food. It is comfort and succour for her, as well as being sensually satisfying. I wanted to delve into this idea by inviting someone to talk about their personal relationship with food.

There was only one person I wanted to ask to do this guest post. This lady has a beautifully sensual writing style and I know she is a fellow food lover. So I asked, and she answered – “of course!” – because that’s how kind and generous she is. So without any further ado, here’s F. Leonora Solomon….

I am not a scientist, but I do believe there is a strong correlation between personality and appetite. Since I am not a scientist, I am going to give you life examples. I have a voracious and expansive appetite, and love to try new (combinations of) food. I eat high and low brow, I am not a complete food snob. Cooking is a favorite pastime of mine as well. To me, if you like to eat, the desire to prepare food should be intuitive. Maybe I should say I have a fascination with food, in some ways I treat it like it is sacred. I never eat on the run, I always sit down and savor my meals.

I had grasshopper salt on a margarita once, and ate delicious rabbit at a cafe in Quebec. As a omnivore, I do not think I should be elitist about what types of living things I consume—well, to a point. I would not like to be eaten, or to eat another human…not ingested I should specify! Additionally, I respect people who do not have a diet like mine. I have found bliss via vegetarian and vegan cuisines. I love exploring food.

People have judged what I eat, but it does not bother me. It is personal, the same way sexual desires are. I think sex should be explored the same way food is, without limitations, and with a willingness to try things that do not sound like they would be otherwise appealing.

Chocolate FLS blog

My one food snobbery? I have to say I cannot connect deeply with a man who does not like chocolate. To be fair, I am open but I have never been able to. Eating chocolate…I wish you could see me for a demonstration…imagine my mouth is wide open. I am reaching far back with my finger, to the spot where chocolate dissolves like an orgasm on my tongue.

Pause.

Okay, I am back. I cannot intimately connect with a man who does not like chocolate. I have good friends and family who don’t, and that is fine. I am not intimate with them. This is not to say that I have not been attracted to men who do not like chocolate, but there is something in their constitution that always fails me. And the chocolate thing is not a deal maker either. I have liked men who do like chocolate, but combined with other attributes, it was not successful.

One man made fun of me for my “fancy” palate and I dislike people who make fun of me for basic characteristics. Well, I dislike being made fun of in general, and he made a sport of it for a lot of things, including my writing, and he did not even know what I write.

The Chocolate Show that I attended in New York dispelled some notions I had about chocolate, I met some people there who were not what I expected chocolate lovers to be like at all…But chocolate still works as a fool-proof barometer for me of where things can go with a man. There are other factors. It is not an exact science, because I am not a scientist!

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. A BIG thanks to Leonora (you should totally read Chemical Sex it’s a brilliant anthology – see my review here) and now I’m off to suck on some chocolate, maybe lick it and nibble it a bit – you know – just because it makes me feel good 😉

Review: Tie Me Up edited by F Leonora Solomon

Tie Me Up cover

Blurb:

B is for bondage in BDSM, and Tie Me Up is the perfect place to explore just that.

The 19 stories in this anthology do not fetishize bondage. Instead, Tie Me Up shows how couples explore it as a sexy romantic option–sexy underscored!

New and seasoned authors fill this anthology with steamy tales that will keep you tied up…unable to put this collection down!

My review:

This might be a bit of a struggle to write because I’m still fanning myself and considering a quick trip upstairs to sort myself out.

This anthology is good and I mean really good.

I’ve read a lot of anthologies, so many have only one or two decent stories, then I end up skipping a load and wondering why I bothered to waste my money. Not this one. This is a collection of consistently great stories that F. Leonora Solomon has put together. The writing is high quality and the authors have taken the brief and run with it in exciting and very interesting ways.

I had my favourites: Oleander Plume’s ‘Cops and Robbers’, Jane Gilbert’s ‘By A Thread’, Tomio Hall-Black’s ‘What Isn’t Necessary Is’ to name a few. But to be honest there were so many good stories in here it’s hard for me to single them out.

I really liked how the authors explored the use of bondage within relationships. There’s plenty of variations on the theme to keep it interesting from Femdom action (always love that) to sky diving (brilliantly unique slant), LGBT, a harem and multiple partners (another one of my favourites – you can see why I loved this, right?)

I’d really recommend this book, not just to those bondage lovers out there, but also if you’ve got a little germ of an idea brewing in the back of your mind that you’d like to try something new. Lots of great ideas in here!

Taking A Tumblr

tumblr blog pic

Ever since I was inspired by that awesome gif on Kayla Lords site to write my first Masturbation Monday piece, I’ve been looking for images to accompany the erotic shorts that I write for that meme.

I started off looking on Twitter, after all there’s a ton of profiles that just post filthy pictures. Selena Kitt’s is always good for some dirty picture action (she broke my Tumblr cherry), but it takes time trawling through and I got a bit annoyed by that, so now I just follow her on tumblr – much easier.

I discovered Tumblr a few months ago. Oh my god, it’s nothing short of manna from heaven for a voyeur like me. I knew about it way before I joined, but I had enough on my plate without joining another social media site, so I put it off. I regret those wasted weeks, I really do.

So now I’d like to stand up and say: “My name is Rebecca Black and I bloody love Tumblr.”

It’s awesome. I scroll through my dashboard until I find an image that catches my attention and an erotic scene plays out in my head and I write it down. Every single Masturbation Monday piece that I’ve written has originated like this – it’s never ending sex-fuelled-dirty-sexual-eye-candy inspiration. Genius.

I can’t take any credit for the images I post with my erotic shorts, except to say that I chose them out of the pool of blogs on there. But people have started to ask me about them (F. Leonora Solomon and Emily Dubberley to be exact!) Up to now I haven’t promoted my Tumblr blog (mainly because it’s just dirty-sexy pictures and filthy gifs) but if you’re into that, have a look if you want. You can find me at rebeccablackwords.tumblr.com – go be inspired!

Thanks for reading,

Rebecca x
