Rule Breaker, a dark erotic romance novel by Lily Harlem, is out now from Totally Bound and all other good ebook retailers:

Amazon UK | ARe | Kobo | B&N | ibooks

Back Cover Information:

Locks, keys and prison bars can’t contain a love that’s meant to roam wild and free, but when that love is let loose, will Lacey be able to handle what’s heading her way?

Rules are meant to protect the innocent and keep danger at bay—except for me. The lines blur, and it all started when I met the ultimate bad boy. But is he? Miller Davenport might be big, bad and brimming with sin but he’s confessed his crimes and for ten years he’s served his time and walked the line. Everyone deserves a second chance, right? And as his nurse—the one person who understands him—I can’t help but count the days till we can be together properly, without guards watching over us and without every look and word we share censored.

When that day comes, though, will our desire for each other explode and take me to the new heights he’s promised? And if so, how will I survive such intensity? One thing is for sure. With Miller I’ll be whisked up in a whirlwind of his dark energy and a tornado of his lust, and likely taken to the very edge of what I can handle. I can’t help a few nerves, though, as release day approaches, because if it all comes crashing down, who can I depend on when I’ve ridden into the sunset with a man who’s broken all the rules? Will I be saved or will I have pushed everyone and everything too far?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of exhibitionism, anal play and light restraint.

Excerpt:

“Yeah.” He nodded. “Yeah, you’re right. I’ll just go with the first one they show me. Fuck it, it’s a cake shop. They’ll all be bloody nice.” He glanced at Miller then back to me. “Do you mind if I make a call while you—?”

“Not at all, go ahead.” I waved him to the seat. “This is my last time with Miller anyway, so I’m sure he’ll behave.”

Miller’s jaw was tense. His eyebrows drew low and a small muscle flexed in his cheek.

Barry pulled out his phone and, without glancing at me again, dropped his bulk into the chair—the legs scraped on the hard floor. He started scrolling over the screen.

“Come on,” I said to Miller.

He followed me into the clinical room.

I walked up to the counter and reached for my tray of equipment.

“Lacey.”

I startled. He was right behind me.

He set his hands on the work surface, one either side of my body, trapping me against it with his torso.

“What?” I whispered, glancing at the door, my head brushing his.

“Tomorrow,” he murmured, his mouth right against my ear.

A thrill and a chill went through me as my neck and scalp tingled and tightened at his nearness.

“What about it?” I placed my right hand over his, cupping his hard knuckles. It was a bold move, but touching him was what I craved—I couldn’t help myself.

I heard him pull in a breath. “Meet me.”

“Where?”

“Anywhere you fucking want. Just be there.” He paused and pushed a little harder against me.

His groin, the outline of his cock, semi-hard, nestled against the crack of my buttocks. Lust blazed through my veins. Damn it, tomorrow was too long to wait. But we had to.

“There’s a pub, round the corner from here,” I said. “The Cow and Slipper.”

He turned his hand and gripped my forearm. His fingertips pressed over my pulse points, his fingers were big and dark against the delicate veiny underside of my wrist.

“I’ll be there at noon,” he said.

“So will I.”

“Thank you.” He pressed his cheek against my ear. The weight of his head was heavy against mine.

I leaned into him. The daring, risky move heightened all of my senses. His chest against my shoulders, his breath on my cheek and his stubble against my temple. And damn, his body shoved into mine, his cock pushing through clothes against my arse. I wanted it. All of it.

“We’ll take it slow,” he whispered. “Get to know each other without a boss watching over us. Speak freely about what we want. I’m not in it for a lay. What we have is special. I’m doing this because I want you—always have, from the first time I saw you.” He paused. “But you know that.”

I swallowed and turned. I did know that.

He released my wrist.

I looked up at him. This was the closest we’d ever been. I was surrounded by him, wrapped up in him. It was where I wanted to be.

He leaned a little closer and his chest brushed against mine.

My nipples drew into pinched peaks, scraping against the inner cups of my bra.

“I thought of you last night,” he said. He lifted his hand and caressed my cheek. The small hard patches of skin, from where he banged weights, scratched against my flesh.

“What did you think?” I asked, my hands hovering. I wanted to touch him but didn’t dare, for fear that I wouldn’t be able to stop.

I glanced at the door again.

“Shh, it’s okay. I can still hear him talking,” he said.

“Maybe you should tell me tomorrow, when we don’t have to rush.” My heart was racing, adrenaline swamping my system. The thought of Barry catching us like this had me on a knife’s edge, but I couldn’t push Miller away. Barry had been instructed to behave like Miller might be a danger to me, yet I’d never felt safer than at this moment with Miller’s full attention—with Miller, big, bad now- tamed Miller, looming over me.

I knew what he was, what he was capable of, but he’d been reformed. He was being let out. The judge, the crown, had decided he’d paid for his crimes and he was no longer a danger to society. Which meant he wasn’t a danger to me.

“I’ll tell you tomorrow then,” he said, lowering his head. “If that’s what you want.”

I stared into his dark eyes, at the way his lashes pointed slightly downward. They weren’t curled, and he had a tiny freckle like a teardrop under his left eye. I hadn’t noticed that before. Hadn’t been close enough.

“I’ll look after you, hen,” he whispered. “Don’t ever be afraid of me. I’m not violent. I’m a good man now. I’ll be your good man for as long as you’ll have me. I promise. I won’t hurt you.”

“I’m not…scared, that is.”

“Good.” He leaned closer still. I looked at his lips. I could see every tiny dent and crease on them, his top one was thinner than the bottom and with stubble peppered right up to the outline. Fuck, is he going to kiss me?

We couldn’t.

Not here.

Not now.

“No,” I mouthed.

He pressed his closed lips to mine. They were dry, yet soft. He held my head in both of his hands and pushed his hard body forward, trapping me against the counter.

I whimpered and clung to his forearms. Terror and desire warred within me. I’d lose my job. He could lose his good-behavior privilege and be held for the remainder of his sentence.

It was the most reckless kiss I’d ever experienced, yet also the gentlest, sweetest connection I could ever remember.

He pulled back.

I opened my eyes.

His were still shut.

He furled his tongue over his bottom lip, as though tasting me there.

“Jesus,” he said quietly. “How the hell am I going to get through this last night without you?”

“Stop.” I rested my hands on his chest and pushed. “Please, save this for tomorrow.” Again I threw a glance at the door.

“Okay.” He opened his eyes, released me and stepped back. He held up his palms as if surrendering. “This last bit is the hardest though. I guess it’s like running a marathon. It’s all shit but the last mile? The last hundred yards? That’s what really gets you here.” He banged his chest. “It’s the shitiest bit.”

“I suppose.” I rubbed the tip of my index finger on my lips, reliving the sensation of his mouth on mine.

“Fucking genius you are, Lacey,” Barry said, walking in.

A flash of surprise went over Miller’s face.

Alarm must have crossed mine too.

Neither of us had heard him finish his conversation or been aware of him approaching the clinical room.

Bloody hell. If he’d come in ten seconds ago…no, make that five seconds ago.

NEW RELEASE!!! Let’s Ride by Rebecca Black #lesbian #erotica

Hello!!

IT’S RELEASE DAY!!! I won’t lie – I’m excited…

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I really love a good, quick read. Busy lives often don’t leave as much time as we’d like for reading, do they? I’m not always so bothered about the back story, I just want to live vicariously for a moment through the characters as they experience that first rush of lust and desire in a new relationship – I want to get a little hot and tingly 😉

Well Evernight’s Romance on the Go range is all about fulfilling this reading need and my new release Let’s Ride is a part of that.

LetsRide-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-finalimage

Let’s Ride started life as an erotic short that I wrote for Masturbation Monday (a meme that I write for most weeks). I saw this black and white photograph and a piece of flash fiction just fired out of me. Talk about inspiration!

girl on a bike

Source: Tumblr

She looks like she wouldn’t take any crap and she looks very capable of sweeping someone off their feet. It got a lot of great feedback so I decided to extend it and lucky for me, Evernight liked it too.

I’ve read some great books with well written dominant male characters, both straight and gay, but I really wanted to write a recognisable archetype with a twist. There isn’t one good reason on this earth why the hero has to be male. Let’s Ride completely rejects that assumption. Jo is confident, self-assured and has a dominant streak a mile wide, but she’s also a beautiful woman, inside and out. She rides into town and sweeps Mary-Beth right off her feet and into her bed. I love her (I know I’m not supposed to say that because I wrote her, but I really do!) and I hope you do too.

Let'sRideCompleted teaser

So here’s the blurb:

“I would do just about anything to be on the back of that bike when she leaves this place.”

Trapped in a small town life, Mary-Beth always knew there was something better out there. Then Jo rides into town and walks straight into the diner where she works. Sexy, dominant and self-assured, Jo is everything Mary-Beth wishes she could be. Their hot, intense meeting crashes through Mary-Beth’s small world and offers her the promise of a new start.

Will Mary-Beth leave everything behind and ride with Jo towards the chance of a new life?

Excerpt:

Standing by the window, I’m trying to take a lunch time customer’s order but my attention is caught by a bike riding into the gas pump out front.

I hold my breath. She is pretty much everything that I wish I could be. Tall and lean. Enough fuck you attitude to tame a horde of marauding Vikings. She straddles that bike like she was born to it, like she never rode a trike. Like she just stepped right onto all that horsepower and with a flick of her wrists rode off into the sunset, giving everyone the finger as she went.

I would do just about anything to be on the back of that bike when she leaves this place.

She kicks the stand and moves the bike smoothly into its stationary position, slinging her long leg over the back wheel.

I jump a little when our eyes meet through the window. I’m supposed to be taking this guy’s order but I got distracted, seriously distracted. She smirks when her eyes roam over the redness in my cheeks.

Heat has suffused my body; a fine sweat has broken out on my skin and I know I’m in trouble. So much trouble.

I manage to scramble my brain sufficiently to take his order and drop it off at the kitchen. Moving around the bar, I grab the coffee pot to do refills. I can’t stop looking at the door.

Will she come in? Or has she just come for gas?

Please let her come in.

I want to see her up close—I want to see her eyes—that flawless skin. I want to run my fingers over the black shaved hair on the sides of her head, run them through the longer top that she has greased back. I want to watch her eyes close with the pleasure of it.

I hold my nerve when I hear the bell ring over the door. I’m pouring coffee—it really wouldn’t do to spill it and burn a customer. I’m bent over slightly to reach the cup, and my skirt brushes against the back of my legs when she walks past me.

I smile distractedly as the customer thanks me, turning my head to see she has taken a seat at the bar.

Walking over on shaky legs, I smooth my damp palms down the front of my uniform apron.

She sits tall, resting her elbows on the counter. Her legs are open, one heel of her heavy black boots hooked higher on the stool than the other. Her jeans are tight, riding low on slim hips, well worn with a small rip over one knee. A tight white t-shirt stops a few inches from the waistband of her jeans, showing smooth lightly tanned skin that I desperately want to touch.

Her knowing gaze follows me as I move around the bar to face her. I can almost feel a pressure on my skin where it touches me.

“What can I get for you?”

“What have you got?” she asks in a low, husky voice. Her eyes lock on mine. Her eyebrows are like a raven’s wings, perfectly shaped, drawing my attention across her arresting face.

“Pretty much anything, as long as it’s deep fried and unhealthy,” I say wryly.

She laughs. The sound is low and rough and strokes over my nipples.

“Always tastes good, though, don’t it?” she replies. That smirk plays across her mouth again as her gaze drops to my lips. “I’ll just take a coffee for now. Think I’ll get something sweet in a little while…”

#NewRelease ‘Tanner’s War’ by Amber Morgan @AmberMothling

Banner2a

I’m happy to be hosting Amber Morgan today, a fellow Evernight author, for her hot new release Tanner’s War. Take it away, Amber…

Thanks for having me today, Rebecca! I’m delighted to be introducing my new MC romance series, Wild Blood MC, which kicks off with TANNER’S WAR. I had a lot of fun writing this story, and probably just as much fun researching it…And by research I mean looking at pictures of sexy, tattooed bikers on Pinterest…That counts, right? Fun fact for you – Tanner’s tattoo mentioned in the excerpt below is actually real. My fiance has that exact design on his own forearm. Always great when you can find inspiration right at home!

TannersWar-evernightPublishing-JayAheer-9072015-3DrenderBlurb:

He’s not looking for trouble.

Tanner is fresh out of prison and trying to stay clean. His place in Wild Blood MC demands it. But when he nearly runs over a terrified woman, trouble finds him. Beth needs a savior and Tanner can’t say no.

She’s desperate to escape.

Beth chose running over a forced marriage. She’s got nothing and nobody – until she meets Tanner.

But with a fanatical cult leader hunting her, can she risk staying with the first man to defend her?

Tanner’s willing to put it all on the line for Beth – even his beloved MC. The fallout will change both their lives.

Excerpt:

Tanner nodded, absently rubbing the tattoo on his forearm. It was an ambigram design in heavy gothic script – reading “love” one way up and “hate” the other. It was his newest too, his prison ink.

“The guy who came after Beth at the diner was spouting Bible verses and talking about ‘the church.’ And he had this pin on his shirt, like a cross with a snake around it. Beth was running out from Heatherton Farm way.”

“There’s nothing at Heatherton Farm,” Nash said. “Place has been abandoned for years.”

Tanner nodded. At one point the MC had talked about buying the land up and using the old buildings for underground fighting. “Right, but there’s a village close by, isn’t there? Not even a village, more like…”

“A commune,” Judge said, when Tanner couldn’t find the word he wanted.

“Right,” Tanner agreed. “So while I was on the inside, I met this guy – a tattooist.” He tapped his ink again. “He grew up in this commune. I’m sure it’s the same place. He ran away when he was like, fifteen or sixteen. Said the whole community is one of these extreme religious deals, like the Quiverfull Movement and that shit. I can’t remember what he called it, but I bet that’s where Beth’s from.”

“The Church of the Serpentine Cross,” Judge said. He’d straightened up again, expression serious and thoughtful. “They were in the papers a couple years back, remember? Rumors about child brides and shit. Nothing ever came of it.”

Nash nodded slowly. “I remember. Snake-handlers and shit like that. Well, so what? They’re weird, so what? Can’t judge a man for what he believes. And if they really weren’t messing with kids or anything…So what?”

Tanner tried to smother his irritation. “So what if they’re more than just weird? Beth’s scared, man. She ran away with nothing, in a storm like this…Maybe they don’t mess with kids, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t into some dark shit. That guy at the diner, Nathaniel, he was no good. No fucking good at all.”

Nash rested his hands on the table, palms down. In most people it was a gesture of calm, but Tanner knew better. Nash was trying to hide his anger – trying to keep his hands under control.

“Look kid,” he said in a tone that was just short of patronizing. “I get it. You see a wounded woman, you go all superhero. I get it. It’s commendable. You’ve got a good heart. But you are six months out of prison and you’re damn lucky to be out at all after what you did. You could have gone away a lot longer. Now you wanna get mixed up in whatever this is? Snake-handling cults and runaways? Don’t do it, Alex. Don’t you fucking dare.”
