Review: Tie Me Up edited by F Leonora Solomon

Tie Me Up cover

Blurb:

B is for bondage in BDSM, and Tie Me Up is the perfect place to explore just that.

The 19 stories in this anthology do not fetishize bondage. Instead, Tie Me Up shows how couples explore it as a sexy romantic option–sexy underscored!

New and seasoned authors fill this anthology with steamy tales that will keep you tied up…unable to put this collection down!

My review:

This might be a bit of a struggle to write because I’m still fanning myself and considering a quick trip upstairs to sort myself out.

This anthology is good and I mean really good.

I’ve read a lot of anthologies, so many have only one or two decent stories, then I end up skipping a load and wondering why I bothered to waste my money. Not this one. This is a collection of consistently great stories that F. Leonora Solomon has put together. The writing is high quality and the authors have taken the brief and run with it in exciting and very interesting ways.

I had my favourites: Oleander Plume’s ‘Cops and Robbers’, Jane Gilbert’s ‘By A Thread’, Tomio Hall-Black’s ‘What Isn’t Necessary Is’ to name a few. But to be honest there were so many good stories in here it’s hard for me to single them out.

I really liked how the authors explored the use of bondage within relationships. There’s plenty of variations on the theme to keep it interesting from Femdom action (always love that) to sky diving (brilliantly unique slant), LGBT, a harem and multiple partners (another one of my favourites – you can see why I loved this, right?)

I’d really recommend this book, not just to those bondage lovers out there, but also if you’ve got a little germ of an idea brewing in the back of your mind that you’d like to try something new. Lots of great ideas in here!

5* Review: ‘Craving Talon: 69 Bottles’ #2 by Zoey Derrick

purple_69

3D_TalonBlurb:

Rock hard once again with Zoey Derrick’s sizzling hot rock & roll series!

The story picks up as 69 Bottles continues their tour, riding a surge of success thanks to an impromptu duet between Talon and Addison.

It’s a crazy turn of life for Addison Beltrand, who’s always lived to work and worked to live. Now, everything is shifted upside down—and that’s not a bad thing. Stepping on the 69 Bottles tour bus has banished the heartache of her past, and feels like a rocking new beginning.

Talon Carver and Kyle Black couldn’t agree more. The band’s lead singer and manager are falling hard for the beautiful rock chick, and will do anything to keep her in their bed—and between their bodies—forever.

The trio’s blissful bubble is popped by a danger nobody has anticipated. The band’s security team, always watchful for fan attacks on the members, isn’t prepared for what happens to Addison during this leg of the tour. Will Kyle and Talon be able to help save Addison? Or will her fear force her to pack her bags and return to LA?

Everything hinges on her decision…

Two men. One woman. A rock band. A tour bus. One Wild Ride…

My Review:

…. that I enjoyed very much! Addison, Talon and Kyle’s relationship continues to develop in ‘Craving Talon’. The three of them make big steps together, but Talon and Kyle’s physical and emotional relationship goes forward in leaps and bounds. Zoey Derrick allows the characters to question their feelings and makes each step believable for the reader. I loved the scenes between Talon and Kyle they were sexy and at times pretty damn sweet.

If you’ve read any of my previous reviews you’ll know that I love a good bisexual menage and I raved about the sex scenes in ‘Claiming Addison’, well… I’m amazed to say, Zoey surpassed herself in this book. Oh my god! The sex scenes are unbelievably hot, fan yourself down, take a cold shower hot!! Addison gets to show her moves, this girl is in no way submissive or overpowered in this relationship. She has her own ideas and follows through with them, much to the delight of Talon and Kyle (and myself!)

As well as their relationship, we see big decisions for Addison regarding her singing career. There are some fabulous scenes where she sings with Talon, I got all tingly when she walked on stage. Zoey Derrick conveys the excitement and adrenaline rush of performing in front of huge audiences beautifully. But along with Addison’s new fame comes pressures and unforeseen dangers that have to be overcome. It all adds to the great, fast pace of the book.

So, to sum this book up – it’s sexy, smoking hot and full of characters that you want to see succeed. If you’re new to 69 Bottles go back and read ‘Claiming Addison’. If you’ve already read it then I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you to grab a copy of this book. The story continues and it’s awesome.

I can’t wait for the third book ‘Redeeming Kyle’ which will be released on 31st March 2015. I’m totally hooked on this series 🙂

5* Reviews: ‘A Different Kind of Cosplay’ and ‘Multi-Orgasmic’ by Lucy Felthouse

‘A Different Kind of Cosplay’ blurb:

ADifferentKindOfCosplay

Zachary has a dilemma. His girlfriend, Reese, has a special birthday coming up soon and he has absolutely no clue what to get for her. It doesn’t help that Zach does not share or really understand Reese’s biggest hobby—comic books, superheroes and everything that goes with them. Zach raids Reese’s DVD collection for inspiration, and what he finds there gives him an idea…possibly the best one he’s ever had.

Sure, Reese has fantasized about her favourite superheroes. All those muscles and rakish smiles are to die for. She didn’t think Zach would ever really understand, though. But he proves her wrong in the best way possible.

My Review:

‘A Different Kind of Cosplay’ ticked all sorts of boxes for me. I love the Marvel films, Iron Man (I’ve got a thing for RDJ), Thor (I might have a bit of a thing for Chris Hemsworth too). So when I started reading and realised that Reese, our heroine, also had some serious fantasies about them, I felt an instant connection and I loved her for it. Although I think it’s pertinent to point out that her fantasies didn’t involve the actors but the actually marvel characters. This is where the cosplay comes in. For those of you new to this like me, it’s where people dress up as superheroes and role play pretending to be a fictional character (usually a sci-fi, comic book, or anime character).

The majority of the book is written from Zach’s point of view. I think Lucy has written a real gem in Zachary. He is a fantastic hero, sexy and confident, loving and tender, funny and irreverent. I really wanted to take him and his costumes home. He does what every person would love their partner to do for them; he puts Reese’s thoughts and desires above his own.

The sex scenes are numerous and really well written *cough* I might have got a bit hot and flustered while reading it. Thor – that’s all I’m saying. Lucy had to get creative for various reasons and the humour that shines through is wonderful and definitely added to the whole enjoyment of the book for me.

So I’m giving ‘A Different Kind of Cosplay’ 5 shiny stars ***** I loved it.

multiorgasmic ‘Multi-Orgasmic’ blurb:

From the pen of award-winning erotica author Lucy Felthouse comes a collection of short stories and flash fiction sure to hit the spot.

There’s something for everyone nestling between the pages of this sexy anthology. From spanking to voyeurism, bondage to pegging, solo loving to ménage, with a sprinkling of femdom, maledom and magic, fans of M/F erotic stories will soon discover why this book is described as multi-orgasmic.

Enjoy twenty one titillating tales, over 52,000 words of naughtiness packed into one steamy read.

Please note: Many of the stories in this book have been previously published in anthologies and online, but three of the tales are brand new and never-seen-before!

My Review:

‘Multi-Orgasmic: A Collection Of Erotic Short Stories’ is a quality read from start to finish and a really good way to get a taste of what this author is about if you’ve never read her before. Like any collection of stories, each reader will have their favourites, but what is constant is they’re extremely well written and well crafted. There is a real skill to writing shorts, you have to draw the reader in quickly, get them to care about the characters and give them what they want which in this case is some hot, steamy sex, in just a few thousand words. Not easy. Lucy Felthouse does all of the above with style and there’s bound to be something to suit most people in this book. Something I noticed reading this, is that Felthouse writes really well from the male perspective. She mixes it up which keeps it interesting.

In ‘Multi-Orgasmic’ you’ll find: a soldier lusting after his female superior, threesome action, a voyeur on a bus, a couple’s first sex toy experience, a returning soldier’s need for his domme, al fresco sex, erotica spicing up a long term couple’s sex life (that sounds familiar!), pegging (my personal favourite) and many more…

It’s a book you can read all at once or as and when you like. I liked it a lot!

5* Review: ‘The Silk Tie’ by Lily Harlem

A little background first… Lily Harlem is one eighth of the fantastic Brit Babes. She has an amazing variety of books in her back catalogue and also writes as Harlem Dae with Natalie Dae. Phew! So many books to read and lots of books due for release this year too.

Screenshot 2015-01-15 at 20.58.32

I’ve just finished reading Lily’s book ‘The Silk Tie’ and it’s left me with an ache in my chest. You know the ones you get when you finish a book and you didn’t want it to end? I loved this book. It’s a keeper and will be re-read in its entirety, and sometimes in parts (you know which bits I’m talking about *wink*), over and over again.

I love reading about different kinks and finding new ones that I didn’t know about, expanding my sexual knowledge so to speak; but sometimes I just need to read a book that explores my own fantasies and kinks.

Well, let’s just say ‘The Silk Tie’ stimulates pretty much every nerve-ending for me. Bisexual menage, voyeurism, lots of M/M action, female dominating both men (pegging)…. is it hot in here?!

Lily writes bisexual menage with flair. The sex scenes are explicit and dirty. The dialogue is filthy, they watch each other fuck and talk about it. That’s one of my most favourite things and Ms Harlem does it with style. So many menage stories leave me feeling nothing because it’s A put his dick in that hole then B put his dick in that hole then C sucked A… you get the picture.

A large part of the menage fantasy for me is the voyeuristic aspect; watching the action as well as being part of it. But it’s not just the visual is it? I want to know what they feel about what they see; I want to hear them verbalise it too.

So tell me, in as filthy a way as possible, please. Lily does that in this book. She had me squirming and flushed. Winner!

It’s always interesting to see how an author deals with the existence of a third in a menage relationship. The emotions involved are complex, I think, and some menage stories overlook them. You get a real sense of the soul-searching involved for this couple, before they invite the third into their relationship and during it’s early stages. I did feel it was a little unrealistic that Haley felt no jealousy when she discovered her husband had feelings for another person. I certainly would have, even if I found the thought of it exciting and arousing. In the main, it’s a small criticism.

There is a definite sequence of events that keeps the story moving at a good pace and develops the relationships between the three central characters. We see a little of their daily working lives which rounds the characters out nicely, but for the most part the book is all about the events leading to the sex: which is exactly how I wanted it! No skim reading to the good bits because there’s plenty of them.

The thing with erotica is, you can recognise quality writing but still not love the book, still not get turned on by the words. When you find one that makes you feel it, each and every filthy, lusty word, it’s a little bit of heaven.

For me, great erotica is about an emotional connection with the characters as well as a physical response to their story. ‘The Silk Tie’ gave me that and more. So I’m giving it 5 very shiny stars ***** a highly recommended read.

‘The Silk Tie’ is self-published and only available on Amazon.
